how it works
Step 1: Application & Program Intake
Interested survivors submit an application online and meet with the Queens team for an informal conversation about their interests, strengths, and readiness for the program. Students who are accepted into the program then meet with the program director to explore their career direction and prepare to begin their learning journey.
Step 2: Professional Foundations
Students begin by building the digital and professional skills needed for today’s workplace. Through training in tools like Google Workspace and Service Skills, students strengthen workplace communication, organization, and confidence while identifying the learning path that best fits their interests and career goals.
Step 3: Education & Career Pathways
Students continue their learning based on their career interests. Some pursue formal education through partners such as Penn Foster College, while others follow the Queens Arise entrepreneurship curriculum to develop skills for starting a business or leading a nonprofit.
STEP 4: Career Readiness & Launch
Students prepare for employment through resume building, extensive interview practice, and guided job searches. Their resumes highlight the certifications and training they completed during the program. Queens also connects students with industry professionals and hiring partners who are open to meeting qualified candidates.
