The Problem Human Trafficking Survivors Face

Freedom is only the beginning.

Between the moment someone escapes trafficking and the moment they reach long-term stability, there is an invisible middle, a gap where many survivors struggle to rebuild their lives.

Survivors often exit exploitation without the tools needed to move forward:

  • No identification, credit history, or work history
  • Risk of re-exploitation without financial stability
  • Lack of housing, income, and mental health services
  • Limited financial literacy or access to banking

These barriers rarely exist alone. They overlap, making the path to independence difficult to navigate without sustained support.

Survivors deserve more than rescue narratives.

Our solution for trafficking survivors

Closing the Invisible Middle

Queens Arise supports survivors in the critical space between escaping trafficking and building long-term economic stability.

We focus on the practical building blocks many survivors need to move forward—education, mentorship, professional development, and career pathways that lead to sustainable income.

Survivors deserve opportunity, dignity, and a future they can sustain.

How the Queens Arise Program Works for Trafficking Survivors

A Step-by-Step Path From Exit to Employment

Step 1

The beginning of the Journey

Survivors apply to the program and complete an intake process to assess goals and readiness. New Queens receive the tools needed for training, including a laptop and equipment to set up a functional home workspace

Step 2

Professional Foundations

Queens build the foundational skills needed for professional success. Through trauma-informed instruction, participants develop digital literacy, workplace communication, and other core skills required to succeed in a modern work environment

Step 3

Education & Specialized Training

While identifying the learning path that best fits their goals, Queens pursue formal education through educational partners such as Penn Foster College or the Queens Arise entrepreneurship curriculum, developing the skills needed for sustainable careers or business ownership.

step 4

Career Readiness & Employment Launch

Queens prepare to enter the workforce by building resumes, expanding professional networks, and pursuing employment or entrepreneurial opportunities that support long-term financial stability.

Meet Our Founder

Why Queens Arise Exists

I am a survivor of long-term human trafficking. Today, I lead Queens Arise, an organization focused on what prevents trafficking: economic stability, opportunity, and choice.

Prevention is not only about recognizing the signs; it’s about addressing the conditions that allow trafficking to continue. When people have access to education, career pathways, and the ability to support themselves, vulnerability decreases, and long-term stability becomes possible.

At Queens Arise, we believe survivors deserve more than rescue narratives. They deserve options, dignity, and a future they can sustain.

We invite our community to stand with survivor-led solutions that invest in lasting impact, not just awareness, but action.

“This work is deeply personal to me… exiting trafficking was just the beginning of my journey, and I didn’t do that until I was in my late 40’s. Imagine the impact if we financially empowered survivors much earlier in the cycle.“ ~Founder, Tina Dixon
